Sathguru Shri Jeganathar
Jeganathar Swami was born in 1814 in Puri, Calcutta, India, nine years before the birth of Ramalinga Adigalar (vallalar). Following the principles of the Ramalinga Adigal's faith, Jeganathar Swami moved from India to Chittagong at the age of eighteen and then to Tapah, Malaysia around 1920. Jeganathar Swami lived for 145 years. On January 25, 1959, at 4.30 am on Thaipusam, Swami attained Jeeva Samadhi. Today, his Jeeva Samadhi is located at Sathguru Sri Jeganathar Swaami Aathma Nilayam, 263, Jalan Chenderiang Lama Tapah, Tapah, Malaysia, and one of his notable disciples of Jeganathar Swami was Satguru Thavathiru Citramuthu Adigal of Panaikulam

Sathguru Thavathiru Chitramuthu Adigal
Chitramuthu Adigal was born in the year 1900 in Panaikulam, Ramanathapuram. Muthu left for Malaya in 1922 and settled in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. When he was blessed to meet Jagannathar Swami at Tapah, Jagannathar Swami also made Muthu as his disciple and gave him a diksha name, Chitramuthu.
Jagannathar Swami helped Chitramuthu realize his true self, his full potential, and his mission in life by being his Guru.


Empowerment
Disciples in Malaya & Tamil Nadu
In 1940, at the serene banks of the Taiping River, he renounced worldly life and embraced Sanyasam, receiving the name Chitramuthu Adigal from his Guru. He dedicated himself to spreading Sanmargam throughout Malaya, upholding a solemn vow never to handle money. During this time, he also briefly joined Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's Indian National Army. In 1947, he returned to his wife and family, bringing them into the fold of Sanmargam. He transformed his home into a center of learning and named it Aruloli Madam.

Thavam in Malaysia
Adigal visited and performed thavam at several prominent temples in Malaya, including the Arulmigu Balathandayuthapani Temple in Penang, the Maha Mariamman Temple in Ipoh, the Sri Subramaniyar Swamy Kovil Batu Gajah, the Kortu Malai Pillaiyar Temple, the Kandaswamy Temple in Brickfields, the Athi Eswaran Temple in Sentul, the Sri Mahamariamman Temple in Jalan Bandar, Kuala Lumpur, and the Sri Sivan Temple in Jalan Sungai Besi. He also visited numerous other temples in Kuala Lumpur and the Sri Mariamman Temple in Singapore. Additionally, on 5th July 1971, he made a significant contribution to the 'Yantra Stabanam' at the Penang Hill Aruloli Thirumurugan Aalayam.
Establishment of Aruloli Margam
Thavathiru Chitramuthu Adigal established many Aruloli Marga Sabai in India and Malaya. Many of his songs written in Tamil were later compiled into a book called Aruloli. The books written by Chitramuthu Adigal are Gurumathi Malai, Tirupukzhal Thiraviyam, Perinba Kural, Maunanantha Mani Mozhigal, Marana Sinthanai, Gnana Pandithan, Seer Thirunthu Manitha, Nirai Neri Mozhiogal, Karunai Kaneer, Kirubai Pirakasha Pokshisham, Thesatanthai Gandhijiyin Thiruvarutpulambal, and Aruloli Malar.

Establishment of Atma Shanti Nilayam
In 1958, Atma Shanti Nilayam was established at Alaghan Kulam. The Deepa Dharisanam Festival is celebrated every year on the 7th day of the Chitrai month to commemorate the birthday of Chitramuthu. Atma Shanti Nilayam is also known as Thai Veedu. Aruloli Mandram was formed in Malaysia in 1960 under the assistance of Tun V.T. Sambanthan. The Malaysian government donated a piece of land in Ipoh, and the building was inaugurated on 11 February 1973 by the then Chief Minister of Perak, Datuk Seri Haji Kamaruddin bin Haji Isa. Aruloli Markam has since been established in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and London.

The construction of Samadhi Mandapam
In 1991, the construction of Samadhi Mandapam was completed, and Shivashri Muthukumara Sivacharya performed Kumbabhishekam in Shivaraja Gopuram. Satguru Thavathiru Chitramuthu Adigal attained Maha Samadhi on Sunday, May 5, 1995. Formation of the Malaysia Aruloli Narpani Maamandaram
Based on the teachings of Satguru Thavathiru Chitramuthu Adigal, the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Aruloli Malaysia was officially registered by Dr. Tevan Ramanathan in January 2019 in Malaysia.
After five years of service, at the 2024 annual general meeting, the organization's name was changed from Malaysia Aruloli Narpani Mandram to "Malaysia Aruloli Narpani Maamandram".
